1. Overview

SideArc is a product of Mekongsoftware ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

Local data only. The Extension stores workspace data (spaces, tab assignments, folders, shortcuts, and billing state) exclusively in your browser's local storage via Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser unless you initiate a purchase or restore action.

3. Payment Processing

Purchases are processed through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. When you buy SideArc, Paddle collects your payment information and email address. We do not store or have access to your payment card details. We receive only your email address and transaction confirmation from Paddle, which is stored on our Convex backend solely for the purpose of purchase restoration.

4. Purchase Restoration

When you restore a purchase, we send the email you provide to our Convex backend to verify it. No other data is transmitted.

5. Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • sidePanel — to display the side panel interface
  • storage — to persist your workspace data locally
  • tabs — to read and manage your open tabs within spaces
  • tabGroups — to sync Chrome tab groups with spaces
  • bookmarks — to import bookmarks as spaces (only when you choose to)

These permissions are used solely for the Extension's core functionality. We do not access your browsing history, read page content, or inject scripts into web pages.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Paddle — payment processing (Paddle Privacy Policy)
  • Convex — backend for purchase verification only

7. Data Retention

Local workspace data persists until you uninstall the Extension or clear Chrome's extension storage. Purchase records on our backend are retained indefinitely to support purchase restoration.

8. Your Rights

You can delete all local Extension data at any time by uninstalling the Extension. To request deletion of your purchase record from our backend, contact us at projectmillify@gmail.com.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
